Vacancy at UMCOR - PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The United Methodist Committee on Relief, Non-Governmental Organization (UMCOR-NGO) (www.umcor-ngo.org) is a not-for-profit organization that provides transitional development and relief assistance to communities in need around the world. UMCOR-NGO’s Indonesia Mission (UMCOR-Indonesia) is looking to fill the following positions:

PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Based in Banda Aceh & Bireuen

Working under direct supervision of the Head of Mission, the Program Coordinator will primarily provide direct grant/program management support and oversight to the UMCOR Indonesia integrated programs and staff of the Integrated Sustainable Development for Aceh (ISDA) project, specifically in the sectors of income generation, health, water sanitation and hygiene, infrastructure construction. The Program Coordinator will monitor the relevant programs and grant and promote the development of a transparent and conducive team environment that will ensure the implementation of the programs and grant in relation to the UMCOR Indonesia strategy for 2009–2012.The Program Coordinator will support efforts in organizational
development and fundraising to ensure program effectiveness, coordination
and team building.

Qualifications:

· At least five (5) years of experiences in a leadership role
implementing programs in a humanitarian or development context

· Experience in staff management

· Experience in designing and implementing related project
monitoring & evaluation plans

· Strong management skills and leadership, pro-activity

· Excellent communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesian and
English

· Excellent proposal writing/ reporting skills and strong knowledge
of donor compliances

· Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

· Strong analytical and strategic planning skills

Essential Functions:

· Ensure all existing programs meet UMCOR’s strategic goals,
objectives and targets and identify and develop new initiatives that
strengthen and deepen the program

· Support effective design, monitoring & evaluation implementation,
program and project reporting functions, and communication and coordination
systems

· Oversee and monitor Program Managers and Field Coordinators for
the implementation of programs and projects in accordance with objectives,
activities, and targets within current proposals, project objectives and
goals

· Ensure the achievement of project requirements within budget,
established time frame, standards of quality, and donor satisfaction.
Troubleshoot
project problems, work with program staff to identify and implement
solutions. Develop tracking tools. Prepare grant amendments when necessary

· Collaborate with the Head of Mission to design and implement time
bound work plans and with goals and objectives for all program and project
managers and field coordinators

· Work closely with the Head of Mission and Finance Director to
manage budgets and approved spending levels

· Liaise with HQ with regard to grant issues, including tracking
sheets, changes, compliance issues, etc. Compile monthly HQ reports. Ensure
that Grant Files are maintained and updated regularly
