UNDP Indonesia’s mission is to be an agent for change in the human and social development of Indonesia. We, the UNDP Country Office (CO), aim to be a bridge between Indonesia an all donors as well as maintaining our status as a trusted partner to all stakeholders. We work in four key areas of development: Governance Reforms, Pro-Poor Policy Reforms, Conflict Prevention and Recovery, and Environment Management, with the overarching aim of reducing poverty in Indonesia. Besides the four priority areas, UNDP Indonesia is also engaged in a variety of crosscutting initiatives focused on HIV/AIDS, gender equality, and information and technology for development. I. Organizational Context Under the guidance and direct supervision of Project Officer Infrastructure for Waste Management, the Project Associate Infrastructure will assist the project on the day-to-day running of the TRWMP activities especially related to the infrasructure in 13 districts and province level particularly in monitoring the construction of Blang Bintang Regional Landfill (BBRL), Gampong Jawa Transfer Station (GJTS) and Teluk Belukar Sanitary Landfill (TBSL) Nias. The Project Associate Infrastructure will assist the Project Officer in supporting the Local Government Sanitation Departments and implementing partners to design and implement project activities, to monitor their implementation, and to distil lessons and good practices of value for future activities. The Tsunami Recovery Waste Management Programme (TRWMP) aims to: To improve and sustain the environment of Aceh and Nias through; (a) strengthening the capacity of local government to conduct effective efficient collection, recovery and disposal of municipal and tsunami waste; (b) rehabilitation of critical waste management infrastructure; and (c) supporting local enterprises in the creation of livelihoods opportunities in recovery, processing and recycling of waste, and clearance and rehabilitation of tsunami impacted agricultural land. The Programme has been designed to provide local government (at municipal/district level) with financial and technical support to achieve the following results:

III. Impact of Results The key results have an impact on the execution and efficiency of the TRWMP project. In particular for infrastructure activities and success in implementation of project strategies in terms of quality and accuracy of work completed which implemented by TRWMP government implementing partners and contractors. Accurate analysis and presentation data of the project implementation based on targeted work plan and key performance indicator and particularly in enhancing transparency and capacity of TRWMP implementing partners.

V. Recruitment Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional working experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience in dealing with heavy equipment including large excavator, bulldozer and front end loader at a large construction site preferably in big scale soil removal project.
- Experience with public International Organization, and particularly with UN agencies or UNDP, in engineering, environmental activities and/or development.
- Having capability to supervise a team member
- Strong ability to keep records, draft, edit and produce results-focused reports in English;
- Good communication, interpersonal and liaison skills;
- Able to work under pressures, handle multi tasking situations, and travel to project sites;
- Ability to negotiate and troubleshoot relationships with national and international stakeholders;
- Experience of working in Aceh is an advantage.
- Experience of working with local government (preferably with sanitation departments)
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in both written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English
