Personnel Qualification for:

GIS Technician (1 Position) DRR-A TDRMC

Specification:

- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Cartography, Natural Resources, Computer Science, Planning, Environment Science or a related field for at least 3 years
- Experience using ArcGIS, knowledge in ArcInfo, spatial analysis, geodatabases and ArcView 3.x.
- Familiarity with GIS applications in risk mapping, planning, public policy or related intergovernmental process.
- Has a fundamental knowledge and skill in the operation of GIS equipment, including computer hardware, plotter/printer setup, GPS.
- Able to communicate in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both verbal and writing
- Has been experienced to work with disaster risk map
- Able to work within groups
- Willing to work overtime as needed or asked by Applied Research Division
- Highly committed to support all TDMRC programs to reach its long term goals


Tasks:

- To assist ADRRM to analyze Aceh disaster risk mapping project
- Create maps and graphs, using GIS software and related equipment.
- Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data collected and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS.
- Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
- Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.
- Design and update database, applying additional knowledge of spatial feature representations.
- Enter new map data through use of a digitizer or by direct input of coordinate information using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales.
- Analyze geographic relationships among varying types of data.
- Prepare metadata and other documentation.
- To create custom and standard map products for internal and external use as requested.
- To enter and manage data through database front-end and through raw tables.
- To report monthly to Head of Applied Research Division of TDMRC
- To assist Head of Applied Research Division in gathering information related to disaster mapping.
