Vacancies at Islamic Relief

Islamic Relief Worldwide is an International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established in Birmingham, UK in 1984. Islamic Relief has a consultative status (special category) with the economic and Social Council of the United Nations is full member of British Overseas NGOs for Development (BOND) and a signatory to the code of conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs in Disaster Relief. It seeks to promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities through relief and development programmes.

Islamic Relief Indonesia is part of Islamic Relief Worldwide which has been working in Indonesia since 2003. Islamic Relief Indonesia provides service and support to the communities in mandate areas, based on the MoU with Department of Home Affairs. There are some initiative sectors under Emergency and Development program such as Shelter, Water and Sanitation, Health and Nutrition, Livelihood, Orphans, Education, Marines Fisheries, and Disaster Preparedness and Response. Through these sectors, Islamic Relief Indonesia plays significant role in alleviating the suffering and poverty of the world's poorest people.

Islamic Relief is implementing Sustainable Sea Fisheries for Simeulue and Singkil project funded by Multi Donor Fund (MDF). The project aimed to increase coastal people prosperity through marine aquaculture, fish capture, and post harvest to address natural resource depletion and poverty in the area. Currently, the project is requiring additional staffs to fill the following positions:

1. Senior Livelihood Fisheries Officer, SLFO (1 Position, Banda Aceh)

This is a medium level position that needs general understanding about fisheries including marine aquaculture, capture fisheries and post harvest. Candidates should have bachelor degree in fisheries with at least 5 years experience in similar project. English and computer skill is required.

2. Livelihood Aquaculture Officer, LAO (2 Positions, 1 Simeulue, 1 Singkil)

This is technical position at the field level that will give direct support to beneficiary in marine aquaculture. Candidates are expected to have bachelor degree in Aquaculture with 5 years experience with at least 2 years experience in grouper culture (KJA). Computer literacy is required.

3. Construction Assistant, CA (1 Position, Singkil)

Civil Engineering degree is required for this position with at least one-year experience in monitoring construction project.
