The Putera Sampoerna Foundation (PSF) is the first Social Business Institution in Indonesia with the vision to create eminent and responsible future leaders and entrepreneurs for Indonesia to face the challenges of global participation.The four main pillars of the Putera Sampoerna Foundation are quality education for Indonesian students, especially those from financially disadvantaged families, job creation through entrepreneurship development, public enlightenment through the empowerment of women, and the distribution of aid and relief programs for disaster recovery. Based on its grand strategy 'Pathway to Leadership', the Putera Sampoerna Foundation has the goal of creating 1,000 leaders per year who are expected to provide contributions and change in their communities. Public Relation Officer- Marketing & Communication
Job Description
• Develops proposed annual work plan/strategy and budget for the Media Relations and Public Relations activities to the Communication Director, to ensure the activities are in line with the Communication Department goals and can be supported with sufficient resources
• Ensures reports regarding the implementation of the approved work plan and budget usage are available as required
• Ensures all information about Sampoerna Foundation that goes to public via mass media is accurate
• Represents the Sampoerna Foundation in events held by media and continuously promotes to public the right image of the Sampoerna Foundation as wished by the management
• Sells the value of the Sampoerna Foundation news to media, to ensure they can be covered in a way that serves the foundation’s best interest and ensures the availability of periodic media monitoring reports, to know how often the Sampoerna Foundation news are covered
• Builds, maintains, and improves relationships with key media officials such as reporters ,news director, editors, deputy chief-editors, chief editors , etc, to ensure that Sampoerna Foundation news can have a unique positioning in their news program
• Ensures the events held that involves donors are covered in a way that can leverage the events’ value to the media and donor
• Leads capacity building session to the media officials regarding the latest issues or facts in education in Indonesia
• Ensures ad value calculation regarding the Sampoerna Foundation news that are covered in the media is available.
• Develops and conducts training to the scholars about media relation, to provide the scholars the required skills to approach, communicate, and handle the media
Requirement
• Holds min S1 from any discipline, preferably from communication
• Possesses minimum 3 years work experience in media relations or public relations officer, as a journalist
• Possesses good managerial skill and familiar with journalism
• Possesses reasonable knowledge in using relevant office applications such as Microsoft words, excel, power point etc
• Has sufficient English skill, both spoken and written
• Has excellent communication and presentation skill
• Possesses solid understanding of education issues
• Knowledge about media conduct in education would be an advantage
