CARE International Indonesia (CII), as an international NGO, has carried out large scale operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency operations, transitional activities centered on agriculture and nutrition and a range of development initiatives in such areas as water and sanitation, health and micro-credit.

CARE Indonesia in Banda Aceh, is currently recruiting the following position for its project:

JOB TITLE : Enumerator
DEPARTMENT/PROJECT : Project/Shore
REPORTS TO : Program Design & Quality Unit

1. Overview :
Qualitative and quantitative data collection aims to asses the need assessment of the characteristics, attitudes, knowledge, practices, and opportunity of micro loan practitioners of SHORE project. The goal of the project is to improve of quality of life the lower income households through viable and scaleable business model base on the micro loan for housing in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) Province. To provide micro loan, the project engaged different local micro finance institutions (MFIs) in the target areas, recruited and trained mansions for house renovation.
The purpose of the assignment is to carry out technical need assessment of the attitudes, knowledge and practices of microfinance practitioners in SHORE project (borrowers, MFIs and Masons). The assessment will follow the time plane designed and have to fulfill the desired deliverables. The individual selected is expected to obtain qualified and reliable information, able to work independent with minimum assistance, understand the local culture and language, to have knowledge about microfinance, and willing to travel extensively.

2. Objectives :
The selected individual for this assignment must achieve the following objectives
- Quantitative and qualitative data entry

3. Task Involved
- To coordinate with the field staff and the local authorities
- To organize and to make work plan for the assessment
- To facilitate Focus Group Discussion
- Compile field information through quantitative and qualitative methods
- Provide accurate and reliable information
- Able to safeguard classified information related to beneficiaries

4. Deliverables
The individual will have to ensure the following deliverables
- Completed assessment questionnaires from borrowers, MFIs and masons
- Data input accessible for analysis
- Weekly progress report

5. Qualifications:
1) Diploma/Bachelor
2) Proven track records of experience as enumerator and able to conduct Focus Group Discussion or in depth interview, particularly in NAD
3) Local language skills are desired as to communicate with the respondents
4) Good communication knowledge and approach to the target respondents
5) Have experience working in NGO and familiar with microfinance term would be advantage
6) Able to work according to the workplan and time line
7) Familiar with local context and able to approach the local is preferably
8) Computer skills, MS Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

6. Work plan
No Activities
1. Orientation on the assessment methods, procedures and implementation, 2 days (15-16 June 2011)
2. Coordination with the target respondents and set up a work plan, 1 day (17 June 2011)
3. Conduct assessment to gather both qualitative and quantitative data, 11 days (18-28 June 2011)
4. Input data and reporting, 3 days (29 June – 1 July 2011)
